Apple Picking

Last weekend we went to Cottage Grove, WI to do some apple picking.  It wasn't supposed to rain until that afternoon so we went in the morning.  We got caught in the rain.  We stuck to it though, and the rain didn't last long.  The kids were convinced we were going to get lost within the many rows of apple trees.  We didn't.

Owen thought we should take a silly-face picture.

Owen thought this apple wasn't any good because it was partly yellow, rather than completely red colored.

Evan found the best apple and didn't let go of it until we got back home.

The kids enjoyed petting and feeding the animals.  We also got pumpkins from the orchard since that's what the kids THOUGHT we were going to do that day.  They were 50 and 25 pounds.  Owen immediately started begging about carving them.  We kept saying not right now and he eventually came back to me with "Mom, I made a decision.  We're gong to carve our pumpkins on your birthday."  Yea.  I'm hoping I can convince him that painting it would be much more fun than trying to carve it into an Angry Bird.  I don't think he's going to fall for it.

After apple picking, we went back to Sun Prairie to check out Fall Fest that was going on downtown.  We were a little early so it wasn't much.  We were planning to take a ride on the horse-drawn wagon around town, but we didn't see them and we were all cold from apple picking in the rain, so we browsed the farmer's market and then headed home for naps.  We did get a picture in front of one of the minions before we left.

Oh and this is Owen's first official school picture.  He looks so proud!
