4th of July

We got some quality park time in on the fourth. I was playing with my favorite cousin Sam, but Momma's camera battery died before she was able to get any pictures of us playing together. I love the park and had so much fun with Sam!!

I'm so tired... just kidding!! What a goof.

The corn may only have been knee high here in Wisconsin, but Daddy couldn't wait a few more weeks to get it from the farmer's market so Momma had to go get him some fresh from the grocery store. It actually wasn't too bad - best I've ever tasted in my whole life!

We also went to Milwaukee this weekend to take Uncle Andy out to eat for his birthday and boy was it exhausting! Grandma asked if I had fallen asleep on the way back to Madison, and well, I think the pictures speak for themselves. That is an electronic book that sings the nursery rhymes to me. I put it up to my ear so I could hear what it was saying.

Playing with Friends

My friend Reilly came over with his twin sisters Reagan and Taryn and we had a great time trying to get our parents drenched with water.

The girls showed off their crawling skills and just layed around being cute.

Earning My Keep

I am so appreciative of all that Momma and Daddy do for me that I've started helping out around the house. I sweep...

clean fingerprints off the TV...

change the batteries in my toys...

and toy with the idea of cooking...

Momma said she'll do the cooking and I can stick with doing the dishes.

Our Toddler Has Emerged

Momma and I had previously reached an understanding that I would become a toddler at 15 months. It was a fairly easy negotiation - she didn't want me to grow up just as much as I didn't want to get another black eye from the tiled kitchen floor. We agreed that 15 months was perfect - still within the normal range for child development and just in time for summer. Hands and bare knees on hot, gravel-covered concrete do not mix well. So, after many months of observation and very careful practice, I have officially become a walker - 2 days before my 15 month birthday! There's no going back now. Walking is my new favorite thing to do.

Momma suspects that the true motivation for my decision to walk came from watching my uncle run for 3 hours and 22 minutes straight yesterday. Now that's dedication. He completed the Madison Marathon and looked great doing it!

A couple new tricks

This one has been in the works since Christmas.

This is what happens when Daddy spends a day home alone with the baby. We're so proud.

Professional Pictures

Owen's social skills are improving so we decided to take him to the mall for his one-year photo shoot. And by improving, I mean that he doesn't instantly cry anymore when someone talks to him. He still gives them his "are you crazy?" look, but that's OK because it's adorable. Here are some of his proofs. I'll post more updated pictures soon. We're still having issues with our computer. And no, he still isn't walking.
